Fishers Digestive Care is a premier gastroenterology practice located in Fishers, IN, that has been serving patients with gastrointestinal problems for the past 15 years. Through our other office located in the Hancock Memorial Hospital Professional Building in Greenfield, IN, we are able to provide the same level of care to patients from Hancock and surrounding counties.
Dr. Anil Yakhmi is a board certified gastroenterologist and has been in a solo practice for over 18 years. He takes pride in providing the best possible gastrointestinal diagnosis and treatment to his patients. Dr. Yakhmi received his residency and fellowship training at the University of Rochester, NY. He practiced in Steubenville, OH, for 2 years before coming to Indianapolis in 1992. He maintains privileges and performs procedures at St. Vincent Main and Carmel Hospitals, Community North, Riverview, and Hancock Memorial Hospitals. Office based upper and lower endoscopies are also offered at our Fishers location.
With quality of care often comes the need for timeliness. Our practice is structured to see patients either in consultation or for procedures within 24 hours. Over 90% of referrals are handled within the same week. There is no customary wait at our office.
As a solo practitioner, it has been my goal to ensure that availability to your patients is complete and round the clock, which includes after-hour and weekend accessibility – there is no covering physician. Patient records are maintained electronically, making patient information easily available to us from many locations

Dr. Yakhmi been in gastroenterology for over 18 years. Gastrointestinal problems are handled with a balanced combination of physician and patient interaction, patient education and technical skills in procedures. In addition to expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, Colonoscopy and GI Motility Studies, He has a special interest and pre-certification in therapeutic ERCPs. His internal residency and GI fellowship was performed at the University of Rochester and affiliated hospitals.
With our commitment to patient care, Fishers Digestive Care has been the only GI practice to offer EGD and Colonoscopies in an office setting for the past 14 years – with over 2000 procedures completed. This unique office set-up offers a cost reduction of over 50% for patients and/or insurance companies. This includes a special reduced cost for self-paying patients. Office endoscopies are ideal for screening colon cancer and in general offer a more comfortable setting for patients and their families.
For the convenience of doctors and patients alike, we participate in all HMOs, PPOs, ST. VINCENT CMO, SHO, M-Plan, ProHealth, M-Plan, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Also, Dr. Yakhmi has privileges at Community North and East, St. Vincent Main and Carmel, Riverview, Hancock, and Clarian North Hospitals.
